Start with the visit, the time and the care that needs covering.
A callout is the start of a new decision. Blendwave Work is being developed to bring the open visit, eligible options, caregiver questions and human ownership into one clear coverage workflow.

An available caregiver may have a timing question. An option may lack a required qualification. A submitted update may still need confirmation.
Work’s preview keeps those situations distinct, so a coordinator can see the next decision and the facts it depends on.
Explore the decision principlesThe original visit window stays attached to the case.
A positive reply is recorded without changing the assignment.
A coordinator sees the proposed time and the unresolved service requirement.
The next step is to answer the timing question through the organization’s approved process. Until then, the visit stays open.
The current preview rehearses these stages using fictional records. Live messaging and assignment updates require their own approved setup.
Keep the visit, service window and original staffing need together. An inbound message or a scheduler-recorded callout provides the starting context.
Check recorded availability, qualifications and restrictions. An empty eligible list remains an escalation, not a reason to weaken a requirement.
Distinguish delivered outreach, caregiver interest, questions and acceptance. A timing change needs an answer from the right owner.
Keep the coordinator, approved details and decision history attached to the case so a handoff does not start over.
Use the agreed source of truth to verify the assignment. An uncertain result stays open until the evidence supports closing it.

Start with the visit, the time and the care that needs covering.
A synthetic coverage gap is checked against known constraints, paused for a coordinator question, resolved by a person, and finished with evidence attached.
An interested reply does not silently become an assignment. A delayed update does not authorize an automatic retry. A blocked option stays blocked until its underlying requirement is resolved.
That approach is part of the product model being evaluated today.
The current Work preview does not contact real caregivers. It illustrates inbound messages, scheduler-recorded callouts and controlled SMS outreach. Automated voice handling, call recording and transcription are not part of the current Work preview. Any live communication requires separately approved setup and operating rules.
The illustrated workflow stops and hands the case to a coordinator with the reasons visible. It does not relax a qualification, rest or service requirement to produce a match. The organization decides the appropriate next action through its own escalation process.
A reply records interest. Timing, qualifications, approval and the assignment recorded in the scheduling system still need to be resolved. Work’s development model keeps those steps separate so an unanswered question or unconfirmed change does not look complete.
Describe the workflow without personal records. We’ll explore where context gets lost and how the current preview handles that pattern.
